A group of engineers and scientists working out of the University of California have developed a transdermal alcohol monitor that is designed to make it easier than ever for an individual's blood alcohol level to be monitored, tracked and communicated to appropriate parties in real time.
While transdermal alcohol monitors themselves aren't completely new, what makes this one stand out is the fact that it's a flexible sensor that is worn much like a temporary tattoo. It doesn't take long to get to work either, and begins measuring alcohol levels in the wearer's sweat within only 15 minutes of being secured in place.
