Modern Monochromatic Designs

The ALC Spring 2012 Collection is Boldly Black and White

In a season dominated by color and tribal prints, I am so relieved and thrilled to see that the ALC Spring 2012 collection focuses predominantly on black and white designs. As someone who heavily favors the monochromatic look, it is definitely refreshing to see a designer go back to basics and present a complete collection that is sleek, sharp and minimal.

The ALC Spring 2012 show was led by designer Andrea Lieberman and demonstrated perfectly that monochromatic looks definitely don't have to be boring. Opening the show with an outfit of skintight leather leggings, a classic white button down shirt and a mint-green blazer for a subtle touch of color, it is clear that the ALC Spring 2012 collection is fashion forward in the most effortless way possible.

Jumpsuits are a huge defining factor of the collection, which Lieberman explained by telling Style.com, "They have the ease of throwing on a dress, which a lot of girls — including myself — don't feel like wearing."

Preach it, Lieberman.
