The Aktina Project is an urban productivity hotspot that locals can gather at in the midst of a crisis, or in some necessary cases, after one. Introduced in Greece, a country currently rife with natural disasters, civil unrest and financial problems, the Aktina Project hopes to combat the distress and hopelessness by encouraging the everyday joe to work through it, literally and figuratively.
Conceived and created by City Index Lab, the Aktina Project is essentially a modular hub that can be converted into a range of settings including an office, bar or even herb garden. Comprised of rearrangeable wooden boxes, the space boasts charging stations for laptops, electric bicycles and other devices as well as Wifi. It currently resides in the small town of Elefsina.
