Aviation design firm Geven has put together a series of lie-flat seats designed to provide economy passengers with the luxury of having an airline bed at their disposal should they desire to lie down. The design could potentially revolutionize economy seating on airplanes, offering an element of comfort only previously reserved for more expensive seats such as first class.
The lie-flat seats are designed to allow consumers to transform the rowed seating into a couch of sorts with the arm rests lifted. The headrests can also be removed and used as a cushion that connects to provide a comfortable place to lounge. The design does bring an element of opulence to lower seat fares, to provide added comfort during long flights.
