This AI scanner concept has been designed by Founder and Chief Designer Deokhee Jeong of the Adaption Design Studio as a solution for bakeries in the future where no employees are present to accommodate a contact-free experience.
The system works by having customers place their purchases onto the base which will then utilize artificial intelligence (AI) technology to scan them and charge them accordingly. This would eliminate the need for employees to physically handle food items and help with the shift towards autonomous retail experiences.
The AI scanner concept has a glossy white plastic exterior that was strategically chosen by the designer in order to help it match well with existing POS systems and help it look more organic to the retail environment.
