Arkitip magazine and paint manufacturer and distributor Comex have teamed up on this Ace Hotel experiment, which tests whether different colors have an impact on one's mood. Arkitip painted five rooms at the Ace Hotel in Palm Springs using three color combinations from Comex's 2012 trend color books. While the rooms were kept the same in terms of design and furniture, each room was decorated with slats that were painted a different hue.
Then, five media reporters were invited to stay at the Ace Hotel, switching rooms each night to see whether the change in room color would affect their moods and experience. As Arkitip notes, not many people realize how differently colored environments can affect the way you feel. The magazine says, "Even a slight change in color can positively impact your mood, making you more productive, relaxed, even happy."
