Accumulation by Xerock Kim, a product and furniture designer from South Korea, is aptly named. It is made out of an accumulation of bark, which was found naturally in tree-dense areas. On a more figurative level, the beautifully rugged cabinet "reflects how our lives are gathered, or accumulated, over time and how they become 'tangled in the complexity of modern society,'" as written on Design Milk.
At once traditional and modern, Accumulation by Xerock Kim uses a process in which the tree bark is naturally dyed using a Korean method and then attached to the wood. Other than its visually striking textured surface, the cabinet is very minimalist. Granted, anymore embellishment and it could turn into an eyesore.
