This abstract sculpture series by artist Troy Coulterman re-imagines the human body in colorful, twisted ways.
Not only do the oddly fascinating figurines in Coulterman's series exhibit an array of colors not found in nature, they also appear to have evolved body parts that humans don't currently have. In many of the abstract sculptures, for example, human figures have large, helmet-like protrusions on the upper halves of their heads, sporting extra mouths and ears. Titled 'Full Disclosure,' the abstract sculpture series perhaps offers some obscure commentary on society, but if it does, it's difficult to interpret.
Made out of painted resin, Coulterman's work is intriguing and challenging. Currently on exhibit at the Arch Enemy Arts gallery in Philadelphia, the collection provides a unique perspective on modern humanity -- one that alternately appears cynical and hopeful.
