Software engineer Lisa Seacat DeLuca has started a Kickstarter campaign for A Robot Story, a picture book and animated e-Book that endeavors to teach young children how to count in binary code.
The book depicts to robot brothers, JSON and Wi-Fi, who want be nerdy like they're mom, and thus begin learning to count in binary code. The animated e-Book version allows children to uses switches to see how different binary inputs effect the numerical output (traditional numbers.)
A Robot Story is an atypical educational project that will teach children unique skills and give them a head start with mathematics, and computers. It is also a wonderfully geeky way for kids to connect with their parents and vice versa.
