Mestizo Estudio Arquitectura Designs A Lodging in the Pigüe

A compact cabin dubbed A Lodging in the Pigüe is nestled in the Amazonian rainforest of Ecuador and it is designed by the team at Mestizo Estudio Arquitetura. It represents a surreal connection between architecture and nature and the main focus of the design process was the pre-existing Pigüe tree.

The structure is built around the tree in an artful manner and it, in the end, co-exists together peacefully. The design is comprised of industrial and organic materials together in a harmonious way. The space is inspired by tree houses and it is supported by a range of stilts that are made from recycled oil industry metal pipes -- this is integrated to lift the home over the rainforest floors.
