While there are a number of social goal-reaching apps on the market already, the GoalHawk app offers a unique spin by having your friends actually nag you when you're not meeting your objectives. GoalHawk, a startup launched by Sumukh Sridhara and Mark Daniel from the current Teens in Tech Incubator, is a platform that helps you reach goals pertaining to fitness, programming and other activities through the use of active social pressure. With GoalHawk, users don't just share their achievements -- they get hassled by their online network whenever they don't reach the goals they've set.
Currently, GoalHawk's site is focused on fitness and programming, but users can also create their own custom goals. For those who are going with fitness or programming, there are preset goals that come from partner companies, such as Codeacademy and BodyBuilding.com. After you've established your goals, you can choose three to five friends on Facebook from whom you'd like support as you work through your plan. When you miss the deadlines that GoalHawk provides for you, the site notifies your friends that they should send you a message.
