The Porsche 911 Speedster Concept Celebrates the Brand's First Car

The Porsche Porsche 911 Speedster Concept is the latest limited-edition release for the German car maker and is being unveiled in celebration for the 70th anniversary of the Porsche 356 ‘No. 1’ Roadster. At its core, the new concept vehicle is a Porsche GT3 that features a cut roof and styling elements that pay tribute to the Porsche 356. The body of the Porsche 911 Speedster Concept derives its concept from the Carrera 4 Cabriolet, but enhances it with a more aggressive look and replaces the hood with a full carbon fiber construction.

Underneath the hood, the 911 Speedster Concept packs a 500-hp, 4.0-liter naturally aspirated flat-six engine and six-speed manual gearbox, as well as the same chassis seen in the 911 GT3. The concept does feature a completely original two-tone paint scheme that is meant to hearken back to the old Porsche racing cars.
