At MWC Barcelona 2024, Orbic unveiled its 5G e-Bike, a world-first innovation with AI object avoidance and collision detection technology. This 5G-enabled e-bike actively monitors rear surroundings and alerts riders of potential hazards such as oncoming vehicles.
"By integrating 5G connectivity and AI technology, we aim to redefine the riding experience, making it safer, more connected, and environmentally responsible whether on city streets, in suburban neighborhoods or the challenging terrain of mountain trails," said Mike Narula, President and CEO of Orbic.
This smart transportation innovation pairs the 2MP rear camera for enhanced rider safety with a front-facing 64MP camera for capturing and livestreaming adventures, and an 8MP camera on the front display optimized for video calls. What's more, the Orbic 5G e-Bike's bike-to-bike communication enhances safety and camaraderie between riders.
