ICON teamed up with the non-profit company New Story to create the first 3D-printed home in America. Just unveiled in Austin, Texas, this new home was built using a prototype of the brand's mobile printer.
The full production version of the printer will contain the ability to print an entire single storey home that can reach up to 800 square feet -- in under 24 hours and for less than $4,000. This new cutting-edge design has been tested to the highest standards of safety and resiliency, designed to be creative and functional with nearly zero waste.
The new 3D-printed home by ICON and New Story was designed to help tackle the housing shortages, in a cost-efficient, environmentally friendly and reliable way that has never been seen before.
