Manufacturing is in the hands of the beholder with this 3D-printed car concept envisioned by the Audi automobile brand.
As a graduate of the Royal College of Art in London where he specialized in vehicle design, Nir Siegal came up with the idea to give consumers a way to take part in the actual construction of their vehicle. Upon purchase of the car, the buyer will receive the Genesis printer and the materials to create their automobile from practically any location with very little mechanical knowledge needed.
This self-assembling concept would allow users to customize their Audi car to their own specifications from a location that is convenient for them.
With items like working guns and architectural structures being printed, the concept of a 3D-printed car is a fast-approaching reality.
