Recent design school graduate Danit Peleg produced an entire collection of 3D-printed apparel. While there are numerous examples of designers using 3D printing to create jewelry and accessories, Peleg is the first to use the technology to produce an entire fashion collection.
Although Peleg was initially unfamiliar with the concept of 3D printing, she quickly developed the skills to produce an entire collection of ready-to-wear garments. To ensure the 3D-printed apparel would not be stiff, Peleg had to use FilaFlex material due to its fabric-like qualities. Once she had selected the proper material, Peleg used an advanced design software called Optitex to render her designs and turn them into finished products. The high-tech process yielded an entire clothing collection, complete with floor-length gowns, blazers, crop tops and skirts.
