Recycled Leather Footwear Collections

NAMESAKE introduces its latest footwear series that features the CLIPPERS 3000 sandals and the CLIPPERS 8000 zip-up sneakers. The footwear collection was first shown at the Spring/Summer 2023 runway show in Paris, and they are a combination of the two forms the brand’s take on on-court basketball shoes and off-court sandals. As for the inspiration for the collection, the brand looks to the architecture of fishing boats as a model to follow in their design. According to NAMESAKE, its current construction processes can only produce three pairs per day.

The footwear collection is made from a combination of recycled leather and TPU materials. As for the design, the larger CLIPPERS 8000 is the brand’s take on a stripped-back basketball shoe. It combines designs from the basketball hoop sneakers from the 2000s with the basketball textures and the architectural design of boats. The uppers of the footwear have a zip closure with thick 3D-printed soles and the NAMESAKE logo printed on the insole. The low-top CLIPPERS 3000 sandals are made as loafers which the founders of the brand spoke on the reasoning of this choice, saying: "our beloved father’s favorite shoes." The CLIPPERS 8000 footwear is available in two colors called euphoric black and monochrome cannoli cream while the CLIPPERS 3000 is only in euphoric black.

The footwear collection will be exclusively produced to less than 100 pairs total and is currently available for preorders. The prices range from $860 to $880.
