Leveraging 3D printers to help the blind, designer Prevoteau Mathieu created the 3D Pentax. Mathieu's gadget aims to enable those without vision to capture and feel images. The 3D Pentax miniaturizes landscapes in order to allow the sight-impaired to experience the environment around them.
An oversized button is provided so that anybody can snap a picture without difficulty. In addition, a patterned ring with traditional camera settings can be turned to get the perfect shot. Settings such as the depth and range of the picture can be adjusted. After capturing a scene, the camera connects to small 3D printer. The printer then reproduces the picture so that the user can feel what they just took.
