In an effort to demonstrate the impact that one person can have on the environment, "Sustainable" Dave has been collecting his own trash for nearly a year...and blogging about it. Dave hasn’t taken the trash out in over 300 days. Instead, his basement has become his own personal landfill where he recycles and composts. After that is said and done, the remaining garbage sits in bins and bags until Dave’s journey is done.
I can’t help but be reminded of bad college parties where the freshmen saved their bottles all year long (I doubt their intentions were as noble). He saves everything, and claims that the compost worm keep the smell....tolerable.
Dave’s efforts are getting a lot of attention. In under a week Dave will throw it all out, and perhaps start again.
