Culturally Blending Fabric Menswear

18 East Re-Creates Eclectic Fabric from Vietnam into Fashion

Fashion label 18 East introduces its latest collection, marking its third drop to date. Its creative director Antonio Ciongoli focuses his attention on Vietnam, emphasizing the country's diverse expertise in weaving, embroidery, and printing techniques.

There is a strong use of Hmong indigo batiks, as well as Cham weaving. This is evident in pieces like the Mandu Jungle jacket and the Charlotte travel vest. The label features geometric pattern designs and Cham handloom on the Karma easy pant and the Kelsang camp shirt. Another notable piece in the new collection is the Dihn crewneck sweater that is made from 100% help knit materials -- it is complete with hand-knotted frog closures around the shoulders as an intricate touch.
