MM6 Maison Margiela Presents a New 1460 8-Eyelet Boot

MM6 is the sub-label of the larger fashion house Maison Margiela and the new '1460 8-eyelet boot' made in collaboration with Dr. Martens was unveiled as a part of its Spring/Summer 2025 collection. The shoes are effectively painted entirely with white paint coating the top throughout the bottom of the shoe.

As the paint dries, it cracks and chips off as the layer of white then shows off the black boot underneath. The fashion house is no stranger to painting clothing and shoes either. A spokesperson for the brand notes, "There are two reasons for white – one practical, one conceptual. When Jenny (Meirens, the label’s cofounder) and Martin started out they collected furniture from all over the place. They had no money and it was all in different styles, so to make it seem coherent it was all painted white."
