The 145/70 Bench and Stool Make the Material Weight the Focus

If the 145/70 Bench and Stool were crafted with half of the wood that you see here, the set would certainly suffice to withstand the weight of a couple of sitters and a collection of possessions. Nevertheless, Alban le Henry chose to construct the pair of objects with an emphasis on their structures and the robust properties of lumber.

The tiny seat -- that also functions as a side table -- has been assembled from two thick timber beams that stand upright, both joining with a smaller block just below the tabletop. That last component is comparatively thin next to the chunky substructure, and it's the same sort of white-coated panel that's been used to make the sitting surface of the four-legged 145/70 Bench.
