I'm a writer, a reader of books and a surviving war correspondent of the zombie apocalypse.
O yeah, and I use an alias for my accounts.
What is unique that's not in your bio?
I love reading and learning about folklore, particular Japanese folklore. In fact, I'm addicted to Japanese culture and will someday save enough money and fly out there for a couple of months just so I can experience their lifestyle.
What's your favorite accomplishment?
Being able to write as a full-time career.
How do you define cool?
Cool, to me is the obscure.
Many people seem to say that they are being original, different and unique - but in my opinion, that is the antithesis to cool. Because everyone is trying so hard to be unique, different and original, it no longer becomes that.
So in a way, cool is something that stands out without needing to draw attention to it.
What is your secret to uncovering trends?
I don't have a secret. Uncovering trends is finding something you enjoy and something you are passionate about, and wanting to share it with people.
What do you enjoy most about Trend Hunter?
So far, it's the fact that I get to experience things I would have never knew existed. It's like opening pandora's box and uncovering a whole world of secrets.
My lame analogy: Christmas, you get a gift - it's generally expected each year (for those who celebrate it), and the moment you get that wrapped box, you instantly develop these preconceived expectations of what could be in the box - sometimes you shake it, you memorize the weight and you think to yourself is it this or this or I would really like this, but when you open it. Well fuck, you're sort of let down because you've hyped yourself up for this thing that you never got.
Trend Hunting takes away those preconceived expectations because you never know what you are going to get, find or stumble across.
What is your favorite trend?
My favourite trend would be the Japanese culture. Anything and everything that is Japanese culture. I know they have sub-trends but overall, each culture to me is a trend within itself and for me, its Japanese culture.
What are your tips for writing a juicy post?
Don't be shy.
Right now, I'm shy about my posts, but once I jump in the water and really start going, then it will be easier to be looser with writing. And I think that's all it is. Be loose, be casual and have fun.
How do you reset to be creative?
MUSIC!!! and Coca~a~Cola.
What inspires or excites you?
Learning something new and interesting.
Predict something awesome for 2020?
Mind-uploading - the Matrix had the right idea. On day, we'll be able to upload our minds to a computer and live forever in a virtual world as ghosts in the machine.
