Durham County Council has recently rolled out an innovative solution to address transportation challenges for workers in areas lacking local services. The newly launched Link2work initiative offers a bookable bus service, enabling passengers to customize their journeys according to their work schedules.
Passengers can reserve their trips up to 14 days in advance or until 17:00 BST the day before travel by utilizing a dedicated 24/7 phone line.
The Link2work service explicitly targets individuals aged 18 to 25 who have recently transitioned from local authority care, benefiting approximately 200 individuals.
