This series of photos by Ilya Kalimulin entitled 'Unexpected Products' features popular brands re-imagined as different products.
'Unexpected Products' plays on our perception and already established expectation of certain brands. Some of Ilya Kalimulin's designs seem to work incredibly well while other designs seem unnatural but intriguing none the less. It's amazing how Ilya Kalimulin can make something like Lipton brand cigarettes appear natural; whereas the Pamper's branded air horn seems like odd fit but still eye-catching. The most interesting design of 'Unexpected Product' is the M&M branded bullets; it strikes an interesting balance between being natural and unnatural at the same time.
'Unexpected Products' deftly explores our perception of brands and our willingness or unwillingness to accept these changes reflects how strongly we associate the brands with their respective products.
