Local design studio Point27 Architects has completed the Atrium House in Thessaloniki, Greece. The residence is defined by its fluted blocks comprised of local stone that form a textural finish. The site is filled with greenery and overlooks the Thermaic Gulf. The team wanted to work together with the views while still maintaining a sense of privacy from the streets nearby.
It is organized in an L-shaped layout and the outside faces the street wth a large stone facade and thin openings. The co-founder of Point27, Stelina Tsifti shares with Dezeen, "The core concept of the design was to create a house that embraces the Mediterranean lifestyle, where indoor and outdoor living areas are equally important. It celebrates the richness of the light and the playfulness of the shadows under the strong sun."
