To raise awareness about police brutality in Brazil, artists Gabriel Morais, Renato Botelho and Bruno Pereira re-imagined the Kama Sutra to illustrate the wanton use of excessive force. The Kama Surra is a print campaign with an included hashtag so concerned citizens can spread the word online as well.
The eye-catching posters were designed to show original Kama Sutra positions modified to demonstrate the physical aggressions taking place against peaceful street protestors. Even more chilling, the scenes represent actual instances of abuse that have taken place since 2013. The goal of the Kama Surra project is to stop the violence and police brutality in Brazil by encouraging people to share the prints and engage in discussion online. There is a website for the initiative as well.
