The NEA stimulus grants paid for by the Fed have enabled the arts to subsist despite the recession, but some lawmakers are blasting some of the programs funded with government money.
According to Fox News, the NEA stimulus grants were in the ballpark of $80 million dollars. The funds were dispersed nationwide to dance troupes, theaters, museums, and orchestras--including $25,000 for San Francisco's Jess Curtis/Gravity, whose dance troupe's 'Symmetry Project' can be seen in the gallery above--and $25,000 for CounterPULSE, whose weekly pansexual "Perverts Put Out" performance series is getting lawmakers' collective knickers in a twist.
