Created as part of the decorations for FEAST restaurant in Nashville, the Marine Curiosities series portrays strange and unusual sea creatures.
Artist Vladimir Stankovic used colored pencils, water colors as well as digital manipulation to create these intriguing animals that are simultaneously frightening and awe-inspiring. Illustrated to look like the sketches from some ancient marine biologist's textbook, the images show creatures that could be real, mingled with those that most definitely exist in the artist's imagination alone. The ocean is so deep that there could potentially be monstrous underwater dragons, tentacled mushrooms, double sided snakes and even swimming bats.
