Artists are ever inventive, looking for new ways to use materials and new materials to use. There is an increasing desire to incorporate found objects into finished art pieces. While fine art is held in high esteem, fun art also has a place.
Arizona-based Janus Creations puts recycled objects, tins, paper clay, and whatever else seems right into limited edition and one-of-a-kind pieces of caricature art. The resulting sculpture is joyful, bright and unexpected.
The artist sketches her concepts before seeking the bits to create them. Finishing each off with paper clay and paint, they are full of life. Just looking at them evokes a smile.
I can’t think of a better use for cast-off objects than that!
