The Folding Electric Vehicle is a single-seat pod car designed for urban areas with little to no parking space. Designer Peng Huashun's EV is nothing like any of the personal mobility devices or EVs on the road today. The Folding Electric Vehicle is controlled using handles that come up from the floor. There isn't much in the way of creature comforts here, suggesting that this EV is designed solely for short, low-speed commutes.
When parked, the EV's folds upright, instantly cutting the amount of space it takes up in half. EVs seem to be the way of the future, and folding cars are actually getting serious looks from designers and automakers. The streets may very well be filled with folding EVs someday soon.
