Duncan Anderson has put together an ingenious method for keeping herbs fresh even after taking them out of the store.
His design uses a cardboard base that's filled with a plastic bag and water sealed inside the entire structure. The herb is then placed over the top in a pot, with a spout that feeds the pot water from below. Then, a plastic bag is placed around the entire thing, so that people can still see the plant inside.
With this new packaging design for herbs, consumers can buy the plants from the store and keep using the food for weeks instead of having the purchase die after only a few days. Considering how wasteful it can be to buy food and throw it out, this package could help save a few bucks and avoid unnecessary garbage.
