A common way to furnish a room is to place all of one's moveables against the walls. With this in mind, the Collection Contre by Caroline Gomez takes advantage of such sturdy structural support, demonstrating little need for a full set of footings.
La Console, l'Étagère (the shelf) and le Chevet (the bedside table) make up the delightful slanted series which comprise of two, one and two weight-bearing legs respectively. The outward-angled posts make it impossible for the pieces to topple forward, permitting them to rest steadily in contact with the wall. According to the designer, no hardware is needed to fix the precarious-looking objects in place unless the mural behind them is not flat.
Cleverly storing books and assorted trinkets, the beautiful beech wood Collection Contre by Caroline Gomez is both functional and fun.
