A trend that has been going 'round is to blacken baroque design objects. I seem to recall that is started by blackening crystal chandeliers and sconces. Not too long after this, I noticed this chair at a few different shops. This chair goes to a bit more of an extreme to give the chair a blackened effect: the manufacturer burns the chair. Thus, the name the “Smoke Chairâ€. Once the chair has been thoroughly smoked giving its finish a scaly, crackly skin, its covered with a laquer to protect the user from being covered in ashes. If you have a chance to see this chair in person, I would compare it's appearance to a lizard wearing a leather coat.
