Artist Von took portraits to a whole new abstract level in his solo series called 'Elsewhere.' The poster series features the work of several of Von's favorite designers in four black and white-themed pieces.
Artist Von is known for his distinct realism style. The 'Elsewhere' series combines hand-drawn realistic drawings of female faces with abstract drawings of things like ocean waves. Von juxtaposes pragmatic pencil shading and contouring with abstract art elements. The stark, monochromatic black and white coloring of these images creates an appealing visual contrast.
My favorite portraiture of the series is titled 'Skye' and it features a beautiful woman's face with a smudge across the eyes that makes the face look as though it is coming undone.
