It’s all coming back. Designer Hannah MacGibbon embraced ‘Seventies and Eighties clichés’ in the new Chloé Resort 2009 Collection.

The collection sports full-sleeve blouses, polka dot skirts, and animal print coats. Not to be forgotten, the stiff linen and parlaying guipure lace of those funky decades also make the cut.

The collection is MacGibbon’s first as Chloé’s creative director’s. MacGibbon succeeded Paolo Melim Andersson right after the debut of the Chloe Fall 2008 collection.

I have to say that there is no WOW factor or extraordinary designs in this collection. But this is a resort collection after all, which is supposed to be more commercial than high fashion art. We have to wait till the next “real” collection to see what MacGibbon is all about.
